As far as I know, if someone buys a premium Wordpress theme licensed under a GPL, he/she can redistribute or even resell it. So where can I get those for free? Or does anyone know a place where the premium themes are reselling at a fraction cost of the original price?
95% of the time, premium WordPress themes are split-licensed. The theme code — basically, the PHP files — are licensed under GPL as is required, but the CSS, JS and images are not. So you can use the code that drives the theme’s interaction with WordPress however you wish as far as the GPL allows but you must create your own visual experience.
Hello Daniel.
I always use different icons and elements within my designs and in the past have created these from scratch. Having downloadable elements will definitely be very useful in the future and I look forward to being able to use these resources and have them available to use time and time again.
