30 Dual Element Logos, Do You See Them All?
The last time I wrote a guest article on FYC, I bragged about the animal logos posted on IncSpring. At the time, I mentioned how I was impressed by any designer able to pull off a successful animal logo. I’ve always thought one of the most difficult processes was to take the concept of a living, breathing animal and create a brand around it. I’m not changing my view on the difficulties involved, but the logos below might have them beat.
So here’s what we got! All of these logos combine two or more individual concepts to create one seamless design. Some are a little more obvious than others, but all equally impressive. Please share any “no-so-obvious” elements that I missed, I’m certain I missed a few.
Your turn. Did I miss any elements? Do you have any other good examples?

Nice group of logos, some much better than others. Thanks for taking the time to gather them up!
Very nice logos. Its very nice to see the logo and the symbols concepts here. each and every logo inspires me. Thank you for sharing.
For GroundTack, there’s also a G and a T in the logo.
This is a excellent post, there are some really awesome logos here. Also it really helps to spark creative thinking towards logos, these are fun and I like that.
One example is worth a thousand explanations and this list of examples really helped me to get the concept of dual elements and I can’t wait to experiment.
Thanks for the lesson and I’ll just ignore comments from the art appreciation students who were obviously in the wrong class.
Cheers
Hey I love these.
Thanks for doing up this post!

Nice collection!
Really awesome stuff. I will find more and add it to my blog!
For “LoveTalk” those seem like Quotation marks for the ‘Talk’ part.
“Castle + Thumbnail”
It’s actually a chess piece and a push-pin.
I like the concept of the Island Dreams logo, but as mentioned above, the end result isn’t as polished as it could be.
timmustoedesign´s last blog post..When is a brand not a brand? When it’s a $50 logo.
I really like the OfficeFly and the LocKey logos, as well as Piano Forest, some of them arn’t very memorable, but I think those definitely stand out, in my mind as strong, quality and professional logos.
These are some very inspiring logos and I appreciate those subtle and not so subtle dual elements.
So many people will tell you that these logos are simple and easy to create, but the concept behind them can take quite a while to develop. Fitting the concept with the clients business model can be such a challenge.
Thanks for this.
Here are my favorites from the list (in no particular order):
1. Dandylion
2. Piano Forest (Awesome)
3. Office Fly
4. Horror Films (Brilliant creativity)
5. PenPals
I feel inspired!
some really nice logos :)
In the case of these logos, seems many times the play on words/concept makes the viewer think to hard to find a connection, also, the connect is sometimes forced.
Regardless, many of these logos are sweet and this is a really cool post…
It is so bad,I never see any of above logos before.
Great article, i’ve seen some of the above logos before. Brilliant way to round them up.
Have to say I’m a sucker for these type of logos, and if I can use this thinking on all my new logo designs. Piano Forest and Horror Films are my favourite.
Some of these logos are amazing, I think the LockKey is my personal favorite.
Thanks Wes Wilson for compiling these 2 messages logos but I would say that concepts in these logos are evident to every eye to observe. Couple of months back I added a post on my blog titled “25 Logos with Hidden Messages” and it turned out to be a big hit. I am sure when you search for a hidden message within a logo, the process becomes more excited.

I am sure you will find this collection worth seeing.

Some of these logos are really creative! I like the inksect one i think its a pretty simple yet nice logo design that would reduce well in size.
I’d have to say the dual-ness is where it’s at and what you should shoot for. Something simple but makes you think is what people tend to remember imo, especially if you have a good product/killer company.
“no-so-obvious” = “not-so-obvious” **
I love 3/4’s of the logos. Very nice :)
I think Inksect and LocKey are the best
It must have taken you ages to collect all of these, so thank for that. I must admit that I cannot see them all when looking but I did get a few of the others, really cool :)
Horror films and LocKey are the best from my side. Cool collection :)
This was a great thematic idea. Every time I came across a logo I wanted to mention, I would stumble upon another and another and another. I love when designs play with visual and linguistic elements. Thanks!
OH MAN i’ve been looking for a showcase like this, these types of clever logo ideas are my favourite by far. I mean you don’t realize how blown away I was when I saw FedEx for the first time…thanks for putting up descriptions too, I have more respect for the choice of a logo when they are truly explained
Thanks for the kind comments Victor! Dual meaning logos are amazing. I did the same thing as you when I learned about the FedEx logo. Now the arrow is all I see. Glad the descriptions helped.
I really like all of these logos – very creative and expressive. However, I find font of Island Dreams logo unsuitable… anyone has the same feeling?
Here’s another: http://www.tcopia.com/about/about.shtml
Some really great and clever logos, great post! You missed the most famous of all though Fedex
I got one here that I did for a client recently.

It’s an IT/business communications company. The concept is a sound/data wave turned to form the letter “E”.
Sweet stuff. Lots of nice designs but I particularly liked Ground Tack and LocKey. Thanks for sharing.
