Billings Review and Giveaway **Winners Announced
As far as freelancing goes, there is only one area that it less fun and no where near as exciting as the overall work, and that is the accounting side of the coin. Freelancers generally all face this kind of detail drag through the less creative and more numerical areas or our arena, never fully relishing in the paperwork half of the equation due to its tedious and relatively boorish nature. But that is becoming a thing of the past in our freelance forum, as we have recently discovered Billings 3.

Billings is the time tracking, billing, and invoicing software that changes the game completely for all of the folks struggling to conquer their accounting matters. This extremely easy to use, award winning software takes care of so many of your billing needs that you will never look at doing your financials the same way again. With invoicing and account statements all readily awaiting your minor input and template selection, the once time consuming process of preparing this paperwork has been revised in a revolutionary and time saving manner.

Billings also keeps track of your client’s payments, and allows for billing single or multiple projects to your client at a time. Billings will manage the account information for each client, not only notifying you when a client’s payment becomes past due, but by also allowing you to set up a recurring billing cycle for your client which will automatically alert you when their payment initially comes due. When Billings tallies and tabulates your payments, it also tracks your taxes as well.

Project management, an important area of the freelancing lifestyle, has gotten a few more helping hands to improve your performance in this realm through Billings. With built-in time tracking software that easily allows you to start and stop the timer throughout your system, and even tabs out the total cost of the time spent on the project when an hourly amount is provided, this software manages your projects with grace and style.

With a handsome interface and so much flexibility of control, it is easy to see why Billings has become such a popular staple among the freelance community. It even has a bevy of built-in reporting functions to give the user a quick financial overview of all the managed data that it has tracked.

With its built-in integration to work with other programs such as Daylite, Merlin, and more, Billings establishes itself as the innovative billing and invoicing software leader that it has proven to be. From its initial launch to the latest version, Billings has become a popular Mac application whose stability and flexibility continue to set this software powerhouse apart from other programs in its playing field.

sweet !!
the accounting side of things is where I fell down as a freelancer. I’m going to check out this software for sure. thanks Fuel!
I have been using the demo version…and I love it…Great App….would love to win a copy of this.
Looks very good! Would be glad to win a copy :)
This looks amazing … I would love the opportunity to try this out!
Thanks for bringing this app to our attention. I hope it is as good as it sounds, and I want to offer some (hopefully) helpful reader feedback. While it sounds wonderful, this is really not a review, but an advertisement. Some of the language in this article sounds like it was written by the folks at Billings 3 themselves — it has that “too good to be true” marketing ring to it. Are you telling us that this product has no limitations or drawbacks or points that could be improved? Are there no competitors that do certain aspects better that they might aspire to emulate or improve upon? It may very well be a fantastic product, but I think it would serve our community better to receive a critical review of the product instead. There are a lot of billing and time tracking products out there — and we could all use some help from sites like Fuel Your Creative to weed through them effectively. I’d like to try it for myself and find out. Thank you!
Actually, Jack, we thank you for your insight but I have to correct your assessment about the review, which is our review and not an advertisement. In point of fact, this article (while perhaps failing;)) was attempted as unbiased as we could make it. We simply wanted to point out where the program strives to reach and how easily and effectively it accomplishes this. We were actually very excited by the program and tried to bury that giddiness it gave us in descriptive language that would still impart a bit of our excitement but not much…which, again, is possibly where I dropped the proverbial ball :).
Like one of the commenters here, we too had not previously been using a billing and invoicing program. We were using Numbers on my Mac to keep spreadsheets and make invoices, so going to this program was an absolute treat, and we found no flaws or areas they could improve upon in the weeks that we played with the features. Are there other programs out there, yes. In fact, next week or the week after we have a post dedicated to open source software for freelancers. But we fell for this program, asked if we could offer some to the community, and this post was wrought from there.
Now this worked great for our freelancing needs, but everyone is different, so you are right, you should try it for yourself. And if you have used other versions or other competing products you may have specific areas to look at and compare that we did not. Good luck to you and everyone who has entered. Thanks again.
I’ve only heard good things about Billings and it would be a brilliant app to add to my arsenal.
If selected, I would provide specific feedback on functions and would post a review of the product on my branding blog entitled ‘Why giveaways work’.
Looks like something I should try, thanks for the review of Billings 3.
This is an issue I deal with constantly and have never found just the right combination of tools to make work. I would love to receive a copy!
I have an earlier version of Billings, and while I haven’t actually used it as much as I would have liked (working on that!), the times that I did I found myself as happy with the product as this review did. Easy on my non-accounting wired mind, that’s for sure. Nice review, Angie!
Sweet! This is bound to say me both time and stress!
Looks nice and useful! Billing is an tedious issue for any business. A cool tool to help with that it’s a blessing!
Great review, by the way.
Great! I’d love to win this one.
finally, a product to take the headaches out of the business side of things!
I’ve been looking for just this type of software recently…love to get this part organized!
That sounds amazing! The perfect way for me to start my freelancing this year.
This would be a great tool to win for the business. Good luck everyone!
This would be a great software to win since I’ve been thinking of getting into freelancing. Have planned on using either Numbers or Excel to generate invoices. But I think Billings is a much better solution.
I’m trying to reorganize myself as a freelancer, re-doing my contract, portfolio and some other stuff. Some new software to organize the accounting side would make it a million time better!
Sounds just like the tool that’s missing in my arsenal!
I love the look and feel of this. Thanks for the details.
Have been poking around the Billings demo. It is pretty awesome.
Sweet, that is a totally awesome thing to do! I’m starting a freelancing business as a recent graduate and I sure could need a decent billings manager. I would really appreciate a license! In return I could give you a guest blog post or a thorough review of the software.
This sounds like a dream come true! Accounting is always intimidating and for me, and I am sure all other freelancers a time suck. At the end of the day when you are pumped about a creative project or drained from spending all your brain power putting together a campaign, who really wants to wade through the quicksand of accounting. I would love to try this out!
I have been using invoicemachine, but it doesn’t have many features that i need. Looks like billings 3 may be the answer ;)
I would love to receive a copy. I’ve actually been looking for a good invoicing software and after reading the review, I think this is it! It’s a great program with simplicity. :)
I’d love to win this software. Great for freelance designers.
I’ll be happily retiring Quickbooks for a copy of this
Very nice tool! And it would be awesome if I win a copy of it ;)
Thanks for the giveaway!
woohooo, i want it!
I recently purchased Daylite, another great Marketcircle app, and would love to integrate Billings. However, I plopped down big bucks for a Quickbooks upgrade just a few months ago, so I can’t really justify the expense. Billings seems so much easier to use.
I’d love a chance to win this awesome app! I really need an invoicing app and enjoyed the trial of this one. Nice review, too!
I loved Billings, but never got to finish testing it out before my trial ended. The templates are awesome and customizing them is really pretty easy. It’s a beautiful app.
Hi, I really wanna this app. Its fantastic for my little business.
I’m about to try this out now!
Billings is an awesome app. Would really love to have a copy! :)
I’ve been wanting to buy billings for a while but haven’t jumped ship on Freshbooks just yet. A free copy would be an excellent catalyst!
I’ve been searching for a billing system that is well designed, easy to use but customisable and this one looks promising. Going to try the demo now! Thanks!
This looks pretty helpful!
I detest anything to do with invoicing and numbers. BORING! Anything that could make this part of my life easier is fine with me :-)
Maybe this time:-) Thank you for give away!
This system looks both powerful and easy to use. Getting to try it free would be fabulous!
Sounds good! *drops name into hat.
Thanks;
Nice, very essential to begin a freelance career.
I had a trial version of this app. Simply beautiful!
Here’s hoping!
Excellent software!! Here’s hoping!!
i saw Billings on the Apple Design Awards list ( http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/ada/ ) so it’s gotta be the designer’s choice, right? thanks for the review!
Count me in!
Let’s see if I can win a copy
