Excellent contest adelle, I would personally love to win this business card give away contest as it will help me further out my identity and brand. Online advertising takes up alot of business but having your own card flicked out infront of a client gives you that edge needed!

I am currently a college student. Due to the current economy, on top of the mountains of expenses I incur each month (rent, meal plan, organizational dues, tuition), I don’t have the money to purchase business cards for my local web design business (there are only two of us, but we are hoping to expand). I strongly believe that these business cards could help us broadcast our image and build a stronger client network.

In August of 2007 I was recruited to return to the USA, from a cushy lifestyle in the Netherlands, by a private equity investment organization serving a Wisconsin billionaire named Ken Hendricks (INC Magazine’s 2006 Entrepreneur of the Year).
My role was to take a languishing fiber optic cable and wireless broadband internet company, ROC-net, through turnaround and acquisition and then lead it, as its CEO, into combined public private ventures that would have acted to close a 10 county digital divide in Northern IL and Southern WI.
In late December of 2007, just before the deal was to be finalized, Mr. Hendricks died in a freak and tragic accident at his home in Afton WI. We continued working for months trying to get the deal back on rails, yet without Ken’s support, it has yet to move forward.
I am now left sitting with arrears in salary and benefits for more than a year. After having relocated and stranding my family here, after covering all costs and expenses, and after depleted a good chunk of savings savings, I’m now busy marketing myself forward toward plan B or C or D.
I’m more than just a survivor though and absolutely refuse to be a victim.
One of the worse things about the above mentioned fiasco is…
…I never received my promised *frakking* business cards!!!
In the meanwhile to the next big opportunity I’ve starting in some new entrepreneurial activities including, coaching, training and consulting, and am even getting ready to launch web development and web, email and exchange hosting services with a partner. All are making use of guerrilla and viral marketing efforts to keep costs low.
I could really use some new business cards now.
