**Updated with Winners** LessConf and Front-End Conf: Business and Design Events
There are two business and creative development conferences coming up in the South East U.S., LessConf and the Front-End Design Conference. This is the second run for both events and they represent a new breed of creative conferences sprouting up around the community.
The best part is that we are giving away entries to both events! By commenting on this post, you will have the chance at winning your choice of 1 LessConf ticket or 1 of 3 Front-End Design Conference tickets! There is a catch, though: We want to know why you attend events like these.
So, check out the information on each conference and leave a comment using the guidelines at the bottom of the post. We will draw the winners on Friday, May 7th.

Front-End Design Conference

July 23rd, St. Petersburg, FL - www.frontendconf.com
Front-End is a single-day web design conference focused on content, presentation and behavior.
Front-End Conf was created for anyone interested in front-end design to spend a day learning and hanging out with a bunch of like-minded peeps. The topics are intended to cover as much of the spectrum of front-end design that we can squeeze into a single day.
FUEL has supported this event from its beginning and attendees will actually get to see FUEL’s co-founder, Adelle Charles, speak this year!
You can follow the event at @frontendconf or Register Now!

I would like to attend LessConf 3010. I like to attend conferences to network with fellow designers and to learn from others. @rlewis2009
I would love to attend the Front-End Design Conference. I’ve actually never attended a conference but, I’d like to start making a habit of doing so. I’ve heard of many great ideas and connections that are made at these and would love to be apart of the excitement.

I want to attend LessConf SO BAD.
I live in St. Pete so the Front End Conf is already on my schedule provided we’re not out of town that week – which is up in the air right now.
But LessConf: I need to go.
Why do I attend conferences? Ideas. Confirmations. Negotiations. Ideas. Relationships. Resources. Motivation. Ideas. Spending a couple days to discuss the ‘big picture’ of your business or industry helps recharge my batteries and set new directions and intents for the future.
And hey – conference make for endless blog topics too. Can’t forget that.
I’m @BigSea.
I’ll be attending the Front-End Design Conference (hopefully free?).
This will be the first conference I’m going to. Hopefully it will be good. What with surrounding myself with like-minded people and learning some new tricks.
Great discussions to be had.
I would LOVE to go to the lessconf in Atlanta!!!!!!
I am a web designer and very interested in learning more about the user experience & social media. I have my own business so I would really enjoy all the inspiration and shared knowledge about these topics I have a passion for!!!!!
@concentrmedia
I would really love to attend the Front-end Design Conference!
An opportunity as a designer to learn what’s happening now with front end design, especially in regards to HTML5 — and the power of some of the newer CSS tricks!
@bkmacdaddy
I would love to attend the LessConf but could not manage to fork out $400 (I have a wife and three kids to provide for!) So winning a ticket would be AMAZING, especially since the drawing is on my birthday! (hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink)
I have just recently decided I need to start attending design conferences – never have before. I see them as a way to network with others in the same or related fields, to continue my lifelong education and to strengthen and expand my skillset.
Hope I win! Thanks for the opportunity!
I would like to attend to the Front-End Design Conference. I’ve never attended to a conference, and that one sounds very interesting! :)
I too already have Front End Conf on my agenda as I’m local to the event, so I’m tossing my hat into the ring for the LessConf ticket.
As a self taught web “developer”, I’m constantly looking at ways to further my edge in a very competitive business. As someone who’s recently signed onto a small business offering a range of web based services, the opportunity to further delve into the business side of things by seeing the likes of Jason Fried speak would certainly facilitate those goals.
Also, in an industry that tends to be primarily _virtual_ based, the opportunity to network in person with like minded people is always invigorating and always provides new ideas to take back to the e-office and share with the team.
@miklb
I would love to attend LessConf 3010! As a soon to graduate Graphic Designer I think this conference would be a wonderful learning opportunity. Plus Atlanta is a great city!
@mikewaters
I would like to attend LessConf. I have never been to a conference, but I’d like to start. I’m still a student, but you gotta start networking sooner than later! LKillustration on twitter
I would love to attend the lessconf b/c I love that it combos design with innovative business!
LessConf 3010 looks interesting!
Why I attend conferences?
Because it’s extremely difficult to shake hands with a gravatar!
@ericazares
LessConf
To learn.
@arlton
Front End conference
I attend conferences to learn, to be inspired, get away for at least a day to dream, and to meet other Web professionals. Conferences provide a great venue to do all these things, especially connecting with people and expanding your personal network.
@webcraftsman
As a front end developer I would love to attend the Front-End Design Conference. I find that going to conferences fuels my creativity and motivates me to keep going. Working as a freelancer can be pretty lonely and I find myself asking myself more and more if this is the right path for me. Learning from conferences such as this one will hopefully give me the boost that I need to keep learning and growing.
Front-End Design Conference.
I’ve attended a lot of online conferences through Environments for Humans and Carsonified. But I’ve never attend a web conference in person. Even working for corporate, we’re seeing rough times with this economy. We have budget cuts and raise freezes. It’s hard for them to justify spending so much money on travel and registration for one person when they can just have them attend online conferences for cheaper. I believe that going to a conference allows us to interact with other web professionals. Not only can we learn from speakers, but other attendees as well. Networking can be a great tool for learning and attending a conference would do just that.
LessConf
I’ve never been to a conference in person before ($$) so I can’t say how the experience has affected me. I can say that the webinars and industry related talks I’ve attended have inspired me, motivated me and taught me valuable business lessons. Call me a nerd if you must, but one of my favorite things in the whole world is getting together with fellow designers or social media-ists and bouncing ideas off one another and learning about new gadgets, trends, software, and discussing the woes and yays of freelance business. I can’t imagine a better place to learn and network than at a conference as diverse and dymanic as LessConf.
I attend conferences to learn and network in person. As an attendee, I would prefer to attend Front End Design Conference. It will be very empowering to attend a conference with kick ass female developers, designers and business women. So many conferences state that they have no diversity because they can’t find qualified diverse presenters. Front End Design Conference proves that those other conference organizers (like LessConf) are just not trying.
