I second the use of http://www.imgspark.com

The server seems to be a bit better now but yeah, it was slow for a while there.

I use it for my web design + logo projects. It’s really easy to tag images with the project name (there’s an add-on for Firefox) and then share the address with clients.

The layout is nice and it’s fast to put together a moodboard this way.

i love moodboards, and your article reminds us of the merits of using them in all our creative and design projects. plus, just looking at moodboards inspires me to do all sorts of cool, creative things!

I’ve been doing this for quite a while now, but have been using a product from microsoft, called One-Note. No coding necessary, you can cut/paste/drag/drop from other web pages/sites directly into one-note page tabs (and is also captures the web address in case you want to go back later.)

the pages can be free-form, and expand to the size you want/need as you add stuff.

things can be move around, re-arranged, images, text, note blox, colors etc. can all be placed wherever, you can even scan things directly in form a scanner.

absolutely great for quick cataloging and capturing of inspirational ideas, images, etc. (Sorry, not avail. for Macs).

Good post. I never used mood boarding ’till a year ago, when my new boss introduced me to the idea. Now I never do *any design without them; webistes, logos, treatments.

As mentioned, being able to explore possiblilties in a semi non-commital way, allows the brain to wander new grounds. This is important in a creative process.
