You can also try out google note book. You can keep clipping, text and photos. To keep photos you just need to download an extension.

Agreed! I also like to dummy up a sandbox site, but not before doing a moodboard, at least for myself.

Richard, this is so cool! I've been migrating towards Evernote for help with project management.

Do you really just print it all out? And then cut and paste into a moodboard? I prefer the digital route, if only to save paper. Hoping Evernote will upgrade with this sort of magazine view for items under a given tag (or more).

Thanks for sharing this tip!

I second the use of http://www.imgspark.com

The server seems to be a bit better now but yeah, it was slow for a while there.

I use it for my web design + logo projects. It's really easy to tag images with the project name (there's an add-on for Firefox) and then share the address with clients.

The layout is nice and it's fast to put together a moodboard this way.

Cheers!

I've never used a mood board before. I usually do a lot of research and go through a sketching process before creating a website. Maybe I will try a mood board next time I get 'stuck'

I've been doing this for quite a while now, but have been using a product from microsoft, called One-Note. No coding necessary, you can cut/paste/drag/drop from other web pages/sites directly into one-note page tabs (and is also captures the web address in case you want to go back later.)

the pages can be free-form, and expand to the size you want/need as you add stuff.

things can be move around, re-arranged, images, text, note blox, colors etc. can all be placed wherever, you can even scan things directly in form a scanner.

absolutely great for quick cataloging and capturing of inspirational ideas, images, etc. (Sorry, not avail. for Macs).
